The Legends of the Cursed

Kallista Caterine Callidora

Beautiful, Deadly, and Unforgiving.

“When one has lived as long as I, one learns that the sins one commits depend upon the god one serves.
Although, I must admit, my sins run deep in the eyes of most gods.
But none compare to those of man.”

Born around 1200 BC to a humble farmer in what is now Ancient Greece, Kallista Caterine Callidora grew into one of the most feared and deadly creatures ever to walk the land.

Though she is not evil by nature, Kallista’s rage once unleashed a fury that scourged the region for decades, ultimately claiming more lives than all the wars of men before her combined.

Having walked the earth for nearly 3,000 years, Kallista has lived many lives under different names. But history will only recall the one that brought the world of men to their knees.

Beautiful and Deadly, Kallista possesses many of the traits associated with modern vampire folklore: unnatural longevity, heightened strength, fangs, and an intimate connection to blood.

While vampires eventually evolved from her bloodline, Kallista, herself, is not a vampire.

Being the first of her kind, along with her husband, Kallista does not truly understand what she has become and simply refers to herself as the Undying—a creature that predates the vampire by nearly two thousand years.

As an apprentice of Lilith, Kallista also wields the power of magic, making her far more formidable than any of the later vampires could ever be.

Many historians believe that a lot of the supernatural elements associated with vampire folklore may have originated from Kallista’s sorcery.
